Privacy policy

1. Who we are

HomeSolarGrid is operated by Sharpe Media Productions LLC ("HomeSolarGrid," "we," "us," or "our"). HomeSolarGrid is an independent consumer education platform for homeowners considering solar. We are not a solar installer, and we do not design, engineer, finance, or install solar systems.

2. Scope

This policy describes how we handle information collected through the HomeSolarGrid website, the SolarFit assessment, your personalized results, and requests to be introduced to a participating solar company. It does not cover the independent privacy practices of solar companies, utilities, or other third parties you choose to interact with.

3. Information you provide

• Contact information — such as your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code.
• SolarFit assessment answers — including home and roof profile, electric bill and energy-use context, utility, solar goals, how long you expect to stay in the home, planned home projects, EV and EV-charger interest, HOA context, outage and backup priorities, generator status, and your stated contact preference.
• Optional uploads — photos, electric bills, screenshots, PDFs, and other supporting documents you choose to add.
• Introduction request details — preferred contact method, best time to reach you, and any message you write for the solar company.
• Communication permissions — the permissions you select, together with a record of the wording shown to you, the time of your selection, and the page you were on.

4. SolarFit assessment information

SolarFit is an educational, preliminary suitability assessment. We use your answers to generate your personalized results and learning path. Your answers are stored by us so your results can be produced and, where you request it, so an introduction can be supported. New completed dashboards are stored by us and can be opened across devices through a secure dashboard link. SolarFit results are not a quote, an inspection, or professional advice.

5. Uploaded photos and documents

Uploads are always optional. Files you upload are stored in a private storage location that is not publicly browsable and is not served through public links. Files are associated with your assessment record.

Uploading a file does not authorize us to share it. A file may be included in a Partner SolarFit Package only when you separately authorize that package and individually select the file for sharing in connection with an introduction you request. We may generate temporary access for that authorized delivery. When temporary access expires, the underlying file is not automatically deleted.

Please avoid uploading documents containing account numbers, government identifiers, financial account details, or other sensitive information you do not want to share. If you would like a file removed, email us at info@homesolargrid.com.

6. Partner introduction information

If you explicitly request an introduction, we collect the information on that form — your name, email, phone, ZIP code, preferred contact method, preferred time, an optional message, and your communication permissions — along with a reference to your saved assessment.

Selecting installer interest or “Both” during SolarFit does not request an introduction. An introduction occurs only after you submit Request My Introduction.

Commercial solar inquiries. If you submit our Commercial Solar form, we collect your name, email, phone, property ZIP code, and any company name, project type, and project description you choose to provide. We use this information to review your project, follow up with you, and, as you authorize when you submit, share it with an appropriate commercial solar provider for purposes of responding to your inquiry. Submitting a commercial inquiry is not consent to receive marketing text messages.

7. Information collected automatically

• Basic technical information. When you use the site, your browser and our hosting infrastructure may process standard technical request information, such as user-agent information needed to deliver and secure the service.
• Referral and campaign information — if you arrive through a link containing campaign parameters, we record the first-touch campaign parameters, referring page, and entry page in your browser so we can understand how people find us.

HomeSolarGrid uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on eligible public pages to understand how visitors use our website and to improve our educational experience. Analytics is optional and is activated only after you choose to allow analytics through our privacy choices.

When enabled, GA4 may collect information such as pages viewed, interactions with site features, general traffic and referral information, approximate geographic information, and browser or device information. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visitors and sessions.

We configure our analytics implementation to avoid intentionally sending names, email addresses, phone numbers, property addresses, ZIP codes, uploaded files, free-text responses, SolarFit answers, or secure dashboard access credentials to Google Analytics.

Our secure My SolarFit Dashboard route is excluded from Google Analytics measurement.

We do not currently use advertising pixels or session-replay tools on HomeSolarGrid. You can change your analytics choice at any time using the "Privacy Choices" link in the site footer. Changing your choice affects future measurement; it does not retroactively delete information already collected.

8. Local storage and similar technologies

We use first-party local storage in your browser, rather than advertising cookies, for assessment progress, learning progress, first-touch referral information, a marker noting that you submitted an introduction request, and simple interface preferences. New completed SolarFit dashboards are server-backed rather than relying on browser storage as the authoritative copy.

We also store your analytics preference (allow or decline) using first-party browser storage. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies, including identifiers used to distinguish visitors and sessions. If you decline analytics, our implementation does not load GA4.

We do not use advertising cookies. Clearing browser storage may remove assessment progress and other device-specific information. A new completed dashboard can be opened on another device through its secure dashboard link, but we do not guarantee that a dashboard or its link will remain available indefinitely.

Our site currently loads web fonts from Google's font service, which means your browser makes a request to Google's infrastructure when a page loads. That request is handled under Google's own terms.

9. How we use information

• To produce and display your SolarFit results and learning path.
• To respond to you and to questions you send us.
• To facilitate an introduction to a participating solar company when you request one.
• To keep records of the communication permissions you gave and when.
• To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.
• To meet legal, tax, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution obligations.

10. Service providers

We use service providers, including our website hosting and database infrastructure and HighLevel, to host, store, transmit, and manage information needed to operate HomeSolarGrid. Our hosting and database infrastructure stores assessment records, consent records, and uploaded files. HighLevel is used to manage homeowner records, introduction requests, lead routing, and communications workflows.

11. When we share information

• With a participating solar company — only when you explicitly request an introduction (see the next section).
• With service providers — as described above, to operate the service.
• For legal reasons — where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
• In a business transfer — if our business or assets are acquired or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

HomeSolarGrid does not currently use homeowner information for secondary lead reactivation or distribute the same requested introduction to additional solar companies beyond the introduction the homeowner requested.

12. Solar partner introductions

Introductions happen only when you ask for one. We then introduce you to one participating solar company at a time for that request. Partner availability varies by location, and we cannot guarantee that a participating company serves your area.

Basic introduction information. To make the introduction, we share information reasonably necessary for it — typically your name, email, phone, ZIP code, preferred contact method, preferred time, and any message you wrote. Your property address is not included in a basic introduction. If you separately authorize your Partner SolarFit Package, your property address may be included as part of that authorized package.

Detailed SolarFit information and uploads. Your detailed assessment answers and any files you uploaded are not shared with a solar company simply because we hold them. A basic introduction does not require you to authorize a Partner SolarFit Package. Detailed SolarFit information may be included in that package only after you separately authorize the package. Uploaded files may be included only when you also individually authorize those files. A curated package may include relevant homeowner and contact information, ZIP code, home and property profile, roof profile, electric-bill or energy-use context, utility, solar goals, expected stay, planned projects, EV or EV-charger interest, HOA context, outage and backup priorities, generator status, relevant SolarFit recommendation or context, your message, and uploads you authorize. It would not include internal consent logs, user-agent information, campaign or referral attribution, delivery logs, webhook or system metadata, customer-relationship administration data, or other unnecessary internal operational data.

Participating solar companies are independent businesses. Once introduced, their own privacy practices govern how they handle your information.

13. Compensation and commercial relationships

HomeSolarGrid may receive compensation from participating solar companies in connection with homeowner introductions and commercial solar inquiries we refer. Compensation does not determine the educational conclusions presented in our Learning Center, and no article is written or altered to favor a particular company, product, or brand.

14. Data retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service and your saved results, facilitating introductions you requested, maintaining consent and business records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and abuse, and meeting legal obligations.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including private (non-public) file storage, restricted database access, and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Your choices and requests

You can skip optional questions and uploads, decline or withdraw communication permissions, and clear your browser storage to remove your saved results from a device.

You may email info@homesolargrid.com to ask us to access, correct, or delete information or files we hold about you, or to ask a privacy question. We handle these requests manually and may need to verify your identity. We may retain consent records, security or fraud-prevention records, records needed to resolve disputes or for legitimate business purposes, and information we are required or permitted to retain by law. Your rights may vary depending on where you live.

17. Email, text messages, and calls

HomeSolarGrid sends text messages only when you separately opt in on our forms. Informational messages may concern your SolarFit results, requested support, or service updates. Marketing or promotional messages require a separate marketing SMS choice. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for assistance, reply STOP to opt out, or contact info@homesolargrid.com.

A homeowner-requested introduction to a participating solar company is separate from your HomeSolarGrid SMS opt-in. We do not transfer your HomeSolarGrid SMS consent to that company. If introduced, the company contacts you under its own practices and must obtain any consent it needs for its own communications.

SMS/mobile-data privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

18. Children — 18+ only

HomeSolarGrid is intended for adults 18 and older. The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email info@homesolargrid.com and we will take appropriate steps.

19. Geographic scope

HomeSolarGrid is a U.S.-focused service, and our educational content is currently Florida-first. Availability of participating solar companies varies by location, and an introduction may not be available everywhere. The service is operated from the United States.

20. Third-party links and services

Our Learning Center links to utilities, government agencies, and other outside sources for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

21. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected here before or at the time they take effect.
