Terms of use
The agreement that applies when you use HomeSolarGrid, SolarFit, and related homeowner resources.
Effective date: October 4, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
HomeSolarGrid is operated by Sharpe Media Productions LLC ("HomeSolarGrid," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this website, completing the SolarFit assessment, or requesting an introduction to a solar company, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use HomeSolarGrid. The service is intended for homeowners and adult decision-makers in the United States.
3. About HomeSolarGrid
HomeSolarGrid is an independent consumer education platform. We provide educational content and a preliminary suitability assessment, and — when a homeowner asks — we can introduce that homeowner to a participating solar company. When a commercial property representative submits a commercial inquiry, we review it and may refer it to an appropriate commercial solar provider. We are not a solar installer, contractor, engineer, lender, insurer, or utility, and we do not design, install, finance, or service solar systems.
4. Educational nature of the service
Everything on HomeSolarGrid, including the Learning Center and your SolarFit results, is provided for general educational purposes. Utility rules, incentives, rates, tax provisions, and program terms change and vary by location; content may become outdated, and you should confirm anything important with the relevant utility, agency, or a qualified professional.
5. SolarFit
SolarFit is a preliminary, educational suitability assessment based entirely on the information you provide. It is not a quote, price, onsite inspection, engineering analysis, shading study, financing approval, insurance determination, or professional recommendation. A qualified solar professional, contractor, or other appropriate qualified professional should verify relevant site-specific conditions before you rely on a proposal or proceed with installation.
6. Personalized results and your dashboard
After you complete the assessment, we generate a personalized results dashboard for your own use. New server-backed dashboards can be opened across devices through a secure dashboard link. Keep that link private. Access may become unavailable if it is revoked, the related information is deleted, or the dashboard is otherwise no longer retained under HomeSolarGrid policies. We may change, limit, or discontinue dashboard features, and we do not guarantee that results remain available indefinitely.
7. No professional advice
Nothing on HomeSolarGrid is legal, tax, financial, insurance, engineering, roofing, or electrical advice. Do not rely on the service as a substitute for advice from a qualified licensed professional who has reviewed your specific situation.
8. No guarantee of savings, performance, or outcome
We do not guarantee energy savings, bill reductions, system performance, equipment availability, pricing, incentive eligibility, financing approval, partner availability, response times, or the outcome of any conversation with a solar company. Any personalized estimates, projections, savings examples, ranges, or modeled outcomes are informational and may differ from your actual results.
9. Your information and accuracy
You agree to provide information that is accurate and current when you submit it. Results and introductions depend on what you enter; inaccurate or incomplete information will affect them. You confirm you are providing your own information, or that you have permission to provide the information you submit.
10. Uploads
Uploads are optional. You may upload photos, electric bills, screenshots, PDFs, and other property-related documents to support your assessment.
You keep ownership of what you upload. You represent that you have the right to provide the material and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or violate any law. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, and display that material as needed to provide the service you requested — including, where you separately authorize it, sharing it with a participating solar company for a requested introduction. We do not claim ownership of your uploads.
Please do not upload sensitive personal information such as government identifiers or financial account credentials. We may remove or decline files for security, legal, or operational reasons.
11. Prohibited uses
- Submitting false, fraudulent, or another person's information without permission.
- Uploading malware, unlawful content, or material you have no right to share.
- Scraping, bulk-harvesting, or automated access other than standard search-engine crawling.
- Attempting to access accounts, data, storage, or systems you are not authorized to access.
- Interfering with, overloading, or disrupting the service or its infrastructure.
- Using the service to resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our content or homeowner data.
12. Partner introductions
An introduction happens only when you explicitly request one. At that point we may share information reasonably necessary to facilitate the introduction, as described in our Privacy Policy. We introduce you to one participating solar company at a time for a given request. We cannot guarantee that a participating company serves your area, that an introduction will be made, or that any company will contact you.
13. Independent solar companies
Participating solar companies — which we refer to as Trusted Local Solar Partners — are independent businesses. They are not our employees, agents, partners in a legal sense, or joint venturers, and we do not control their work, pricing, proposals, scheduling, workmanship, warranties, or communications. "Trusted Local Solar Partner" is the name of HomeSolarGrid's partner program and does not constitute a warranty or guarantee of a company's services, pricing, workmanship, performance, or results. Any agreement you enter is solely between you and that company. You are responsible for independently reviewing relevant licensing, insurance, contractor information, proposal terms, and warranties before signing anything.
14. Compensation and commercial relationships
HomeSolarGrid may receive compensation from participating solar companies in connection with homeowner introductions and commercial solar referrals. Compensation does not determine the educational conclusions presented in our Learning Center. See our Editorial Standards for how our content is produced.
15. SMS Messaging Program
Sharpe Media Productions LLC DBA HomeSolarGrid is the business responsible for the HomeSolarGrid messaging program.
After separately opting in, you may receive non-marketing text messages about your SolarFit results, requested support, and service updates. Marketing or promotional text messages about solar education, services, special offers, and promotions require a separate marketing SMS consent.
Each SMS consent choice is optional and SMS consent is not a condition of purchase. Providing a phone number does not by itself enroll you in HomeSolarGrid SMS. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a HomeSolarGrid text message. After you send STOP, we will send you a text message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that confirmation, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us unless you opt in again.
If you need assistance with the messaging program, reply HELP or contact us at info@homesolargrid.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
A requested introduction to a participating solar company is separate from HomeSolarGrid SMS consent. We do not transfer your HomeSolarGrid SMS consent to the participating company. A participating company contacts you under its own practices and must obtain any consent it needs for its communications.
For information about how we collect, use, protect, and handle information associated with the messaging program, please review our Privacy Policy.
16. Third-party services and links
We link to utilities, government agencies, and other outside resources for reference. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, services, or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
17. Intellectual property
The HomeSolarGrid website, its content, articles, graphics, design, and the SolarFit assessment and name are owned by or licensed to Sharpe Media Productions LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.
18. Service availability and changes
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including content, features, assessment questions, or availability in particular areas. We may also update these terms as described below.
19. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that content is accurate, complete, or current.
[LEGAL DECISION REQUIRED — final warranty-exclusion wording to be confirmed by counsel.]
20. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeSolarGrid and Sharpe Media Productions LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, profits, or data, arising out of your use of the service, your reliance on its content, or your dealings with any solar company introduced through it.
[LEGAL DECISION REQUIRED — any monetary liability cap has not been set and must be determined with counsel.]
21. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HomeSolarGrid and Sharpe Media Productions LLC from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms or applicable law, or material you submit that you did not have the right to provide.
[LEGAL DECISION REQUIRED — final indemnification scope to be confirmed by counsel.]
22. Governing law and disputes
[LEGAL DECISION REQUIRED — governing law, venue, and whether arbitration and a class-action waiver will be included have not been decided and must be set with counsel before publication.]
Until those terms are finalized, please contact us first at info@homesolargrid.com; most concerns can be resolved informally.
23. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
